Peace Out 2007!

I am so happy that this year is winding down! It really sucked.

There was, of course, the multiple phases of appendicitis that just about wiped out my entire summer. Chrissy abandoned ship during phase one of the appendicitis and relations with the boss woman took a turn for the worse. Oh and Congress sucked big time.

While most of the year was bad there were some highlights. I had a good trip on the morphine during the mulitple phases of appendicitis. I got my new lcd tv and iPhone. Then there was that awesome trip to Richmond where I got to hang out with a good friend and have some good wine. Actually there was a lot of good wine this year and yes, I'm having some now. One should always drink and blog! Then there was the addition of Casey the puppy.

Oh and lots of Jennifer Beals in nice lingerie on The L Word. In fact, you can see some of that for free by going to OurChart.com and watch the season 5 premiere.

RIP Netscape

AOL announced today that it will no longer support the Netscape browser starting on February 1. Instead they are encouraging Netscape users to switch to Firefox. This is something I recommend that everyone who is not on a mac do. Trust me you will be happier. And for those feeling nostalgic out there, you can get a netscape skin to add to your Firefox browser.

Check out the C|net article.

Tree Hunting?

Did you hear about the family that went Christmas tree hunting and got lost for three days? If not read about it here.

Let this be a lesson to all of you. Do what I do, buy your Christmas tree from LL Bean. In New York it costs just about the same as when you go some dumpy little tree lot, you get it delievered right to your door in a box that conveniently holds the needles and most importanly you won't get lost in the wilderness!

Happy B-Day Jenny B!

There is one other woman I love just about as much as Jodie Foster. That woman happens to be Jennifer Beals. Today is her birthday and I can't think of a better way to celebrate other than just looking at her.

Needing a Vacation

There is a sheet of ice in front of my house that stretches the length of my front porch to the driveway. This made departing the house this morning a bit of an adventure. For some reason my landscapper/snow plower people fail to shovel the main path that goes from the porch to the driveway. They just do the driveway and the other path that goes out to the other street forgetting the main connecting path. Somehow I managed not to fall this morning.

All of this was a subtle reminder about how much I hate winter and the sad part is that it is just beginning. GRRRR.

My body has also been telling me that I need a vacation. I'm run-down, fighting off a cold and it is becoming more difficult to wake up every morning. I'm not helping myself by checking the weather in Miami Beach every single day either. All it does is remind me that I hate it here in NY now. For the record, as I wirte this, it is 33 degrees in NY and 70 degrees in Miami Beach.

I just have to make it through this week then I'll have about 10 days off in a row. There is one day in between when I will be showing up to work for half a day then taking off to see my noggin doc to schedule my MRI. I just wish I was going away to some warm locale. But I'll take the 10 days without complaint.

Although, I am starting to plan that vacation to Miami Beach for later this winter -- 70 degrees beat 33 any day of the year!

Snow

If you read this blog on a regular basis then you know that I always post a photo of the first real snowfall in my area. I forgot to do that this past week so you get the picture of the second real snowfall in the area.

Noggin Update

Went to the doctor today and she thinks I'm pretty much going to win the weird complaint of the week award. She believes that the pain I experience is basically blood rushing to my head, although she does think its odd that this only recently started and not something that has alwasy bothered me. The next step is a visit to the nuerologist, but that won't happen until after Christmas. So in the meantime, no lifting heavy things and no bending over.

A Good Couple of Weeks for Jodie Foster

If you have been living under a rock for the past couple of weeks and
haven't really surfed the web you may have missed something. Jodie
Foster pretty much came out. I don't mention this in a scandalous way,
because if you know me then you know my love for this woman.

What I love about it is how nonchalant people are about coming out
these days, almost as though who gives a shit if I'm gay I'm gonna
thank my girlfriend for this award in public. This is exactly what
Jodie did when she received the Sherry Lansing Leadership Award at the
Women in Entertainment Power 100 Breakfast on December 5. She simply
thanked, "my beautiful Cydney, who, "sticks with me through all the
rotten and the bliss." Anyone who follows Jodie knows who Cyndey is.

The fallout, hardly anyone has covered this in the mainstream press.
This means that Britney is still more exciting than Jodie. It has been
all over the Internet but hat is expected.

Today is also a good day for Jodie as she received a Golden Globe
nomination for Best Leading Actress in a Drama for her role in The
Brave One.

This has also been a good couple of weeks for us Jodie fans.

There's Something Wrong with My Head

Now that's a loaded statement if there ever was one. But seriously, there is something wrong with my head. You see whenever I bend down I get this pain in the top of my head, almost like blood vessels or something are being constricted. I also get the pain when I lift something heavy. It really hurts.

I was supposed go to the doctor after Congress but my plane got in so late that I overslept the following day and missed the appointment. Tomorrow, no matter what, I am scheduling an appointment for next week. One reason is that this couldd be serious stuff. I just don't know because when I do a search on WebMD I get everything from MS to migranes. That's a big range for a possible diagnosis.

I'm also trying my best not to get too paranoid. But my friend Pepe posed this question to me since he is a morbid type of individual. The question was, if I had one year left to live what would I like to do with that remaining time?

So here are my answers.

1. Write that novel I've been meaning to get around to doing.
2. Go to Australia and learn to surf
3. ****
4. Move to Miami

OK I can't post what number 3 is because it involves a certain someone who might be reading this blog and in order for me to feel comfortable posting it on the blog I would have to get that certain someone really drunk and I of course would also have to be really drunk. Then I would have to get permission from that ceratin person to post it on the blog. So its just easier not to post it and have to deal with it. If you want to know what number 3 is get me drunk and I might tell you. Oh, but that doesn't gurantee that I'll tell you who the certain someone is.
