Saturday

For the most part today has been a lazy day. Mostly because I am
fighting off a cold and feel so run down.

I did do some work from the job only because all of Friday was spent
working on the congress final program. So at least I don't feel that I
am losing control of all of my other conferences like I did on Friday
afternoon.

This then left me with the rest the day to rest, nap, and read. I
honestly can't remember the last time I did that. The book I'm reading
(Eat, Pray, Love) is ok but I don't see what is so fucking great about
it. But I will keep reading in the hopes that it will get better.

First Day of Fall

Normally this is not a day I celebrate. I hate any season that is not
summer. But today, the first day of fall is really nice. I'm chillin'
in the backyard with the two dogs, the cat is in his cage, I'm
listening to the Yankee game and it is all good.

Casey

I adopted a new dog today. She is half Rottweiler and half Coonhound and all legs. It has been a long a time since I've had a puppy all the others have been a few years old by the time they have made their way to me.

This dog has a lot of energy, I mean a lot of energy. I am exhausted and Casey has finally settled down for a nap. I might take one myself.

At the DMV

I got a very late start today -- I didn't wake up until 10am. That
alone was a sure sign that I needed the day off. I never sleep that
late!

I've been at the DMV for 20 minutes and I'm hungry. I also forgot my
watch so I feel naked. My number is in the Fs and it has been a while
since an F number has been called. This doesn't look to promising.

Christmas in September

Every once in a while I will pre-order a book or movie and forget that I ordered it. It happened again this week. Way back at the beginning of the summer I ordered season five of Spooks (MI-5 here in the states). It still isn't known if season five will air in the States, but at least BBC America has started showing the series from the very beginning. This has left me with me downloading torrent files and doing just about everything I can to keep up with the show. Even ordering the DVDs in the UK and up until a got a region free DVD player converting the DVDs to play on region 1 DVD players. Basically I will do just about anything to get this show.

Well after my morning run today I came home to my mailbox and saw the box from Amazon UK. It was indeed Spooks. It is like Christmas in September. The excitement of opening the box and just staring at the artwork and how awesome the Brits package the DVDs. I'm getting giddy just typing this.

This show has become one of my all time favorite shows ever and a weekend that was looking gray and chilly now became filled with joy and excitement. I now know what I will be doing for the rest of the weekend.

This really makes up for the shitty week I had!

Its Britney, Bitch!

OK, I finally found it, at the source, MTV.

Wow that was a really bad performance but look at the bright side -- she's created a new drinking game. Take a shot for every time messes up her lip syncing or looks lost on stage.

Watch it here.

Spare Me My Life!

All I wanted to do when I got home from work today was check out Britney's performance on the VMAs last night. Figures that this is the one video that MTV has been going after YouTube to remove. I can watch all of her performance from previous VMAs but the one, perhaps most entertaining, keeps getting taken down.

So instead I will offer you two of my favorite YouTube videos. The first is a Bollywood version of Michael Jackson's Thriller with English subtitles. The other is of great importance if you are ever in Japan and get mugged, oh and you can also get an aerobic workout at the same time.

Highs and Lows

Oh, Apple why do you do this to me.

So I got all excited because Apple announced that the iPod Classic
will have a 3.5 inch screen and come with 80gb or 160gb storage. That
got me excited because I need that kind of space.

Then they announce the touch iPod which will be like the iPhone and
have wi-fi so that you can surf the net. But then they brought me down
like nobody's business -- only 8gb and 16gb. WTF!!!!

They Classics are shipping today, so this mean I'll probably pick one
up this weekend. Maybe I'll get the 8gb iPhone which has a new price
drop with some of my flexible spending money.

Let the Countdown Begin

In less that 34 minutes the new ipods will be announced. It will be
very difficult to focus on work this afternoon.

Cleavage

So life with the new TV is still amazing. I still haven't upgraded my DirecTV so that I can receive all the HD channels but things still look sharper and amazing without it.

In particular the Food Network's Giada De Laurentis' cleavage.

Now that is a reason to get out of bed on a Sunday morning.

Larry Craig

It turns out that Senator Larry "I'm Not Gay" Craig was an honorary chair for one of our technical conferences a couple of years ago. Perfect.

Since I don't have any other gems about him and the conference you can enjoy this.
