Spring Has Sprung So this means that the annual blogging from the backyard post must happen. Without further ado, here it is -- I'm posting from the backyard. Love wireless. Later today I will also post video of the annual cat in his cage video. Not much screaming in it this year as in past years. i think the cat is just happy to be warm for a change. The poddle is less happy. She believes that we should all be inside on the the nice sofa watching TV. This dog watches way too much TV. // posted by stacey on 12:17:00 PM // | -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Tuesday, April 17, 2007 Chain Dough This morning I came in to work to discover a bag with a container of dough in it with these instructions. * The Holy Bread of Padre PioThe bread is called Hemin. It is the bread of Padre Pio and it comes from the Vatican. It brings good luck to every family that eats it. On the 10th day you must give it to other good people. *Remember you cannot refuse the bread once it's given to you. With these instructions you can only use a wooden spoon. Once you receive the dough, put it in a large glass bowl. It must be covered either with wax or plastic wrap, then .-put it* on the-counter at room temperature._ Do not refrigerate. Day 1&2- DON'T TOUCH THE DOUGH. It must adapt and absorb its surroundings. Day 3&4- Mix the dough with a wooden spoon. Once per day. Day 5 -- Add to the dough 1 cup milk, 2 cups flour and 1 cup sugar. Mix well with a wooden spoon. Day 6, 7, 8&9th - Mix dough well with a wooden spoon. Day 10- Add to dough 1 cup milk, 2 cups flour & 1 cup sugar, mix well with wooden spoon. Split the dough into Equal portions. Give away 3 portions to different people. You keep the 4th portion of the dough. You must add 1/4 cup of sugar, 3 eggs, 1/4 cup of oil and 2 teaspoons of baking powder. Mix well with a wooden spoon. Grease loaf. pan. Bake in oven at 325 degrees for 50 minutes. *REMEMBER You are only allowed to make the Hemin bread once in a lifetime. I have no idea who left it for me but Chrissy got one too. No one else in the department did. Aside from the fact that this is loaded with all sorts of sugar how do you expect me to eat this and pass it on if I have no idea who you are? Who know what kinda shit you put in here! Also, since I don't belive in chain letters, let alone chain dough I guess I'm doomed to bad luck forever. Whatever. UPDATE Nhora was walking by during the discussion about this. Sort of freaked out and thought that maybe she could save us and went to HR to complain. We told her not too as we were still investigating. She went ahead and took my dough with her as evidence. We later found out that Zaida was indeed the dough bomber. Laurel from HR came up and confiscated Chrissy's dough to take down to facilities for a full investigation. Zaida later informaed Laurel that she left them and never got a chance to tell us. Laurel asked her if she did this all the time and Zaida's response went along the lines of, "I often leave baked on people's desks including yours." No word on if I can get my dough back. // posted by stacey on 8:32:00 AM // | -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Thursday, April 05, 2007 Andy's Return Yankee stadium // posted by stacey on 7:12:00 PM // | -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Monday, April 02, 2007 New Love Over the weekend I fell in love...with my new XM satellite portable radio. I originally got it for the baseball coverage so that I wouldn't have to waste money on the mlb.com that doesn't always work in the office. The satellite does, perfectly. It also has some great indie music stations and if you know anything about me, I'm all about the indie music scene. It was so enjoyable to listen to it this morning at work and then take it with me on the train home. If you love music and baseball, I highly recommend this. // posted by stacey on 8:40:00 PM // | -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- |
