TextTwist
My post about my addiction to certain web games is well known. It is amazing how quickly you get over the withdrawal when SuperScout is installed in your work environment and when you actually have a lot of work.
I will never understand how me playing TextTwist all day uses more bandwidth than me going from site to site. The same amount of bandwidth is still being used. Trust me I have done tests.
Anyway, this is the time of year that I enjoy most. Congress is almost here and most of the other conferences for the year are just about over. This means days that go by with little work. For a few days the evil SuperScout was down and we were able to play all the TextTwist we wanted. Then it came back online. I was lucky and had kept my TextTwist window open and did not shut down my PC for a week and a half. But alas, today I had to do a restart. You guessed it that mother fucking SuperScout mocked me.
But do not fear, I figured if I did a search for TextTwist on Google I would eventually come across a link that worked. I did on the third or fourth page.
Take that SuperScout!

The Good Thing About Not Being Promoted
Today, I have discovered one of the good things about not being promoted to a manager -- manager bonding.
This apparently is a ritual that is common in cube world.
Example:
The person who got the job instead of me went out to lunch with all the other managers under our managing director. This sociological group is interesting because under no other circumstance would these people ever acknowledge each other let along eat together.
When you look at them individually and try to picture them socializing together you go, "HUH?" But then you remember that they are all managers and therefore must interact and bond with each other because they are all better than those below them.
I'm not sure I would have been invited to a manager bonding lunch if I got the job but I'm sort of happy that I didn't get it. I just can't imagine have lunch with that whacky Canadian MILES lady.
