Shhh...Don't Tell Anyone
For the first time since Cynthia left I actually have some free time at work. So does Chrissy. This is so rare that we aren't quite sure what to do with ourselves. How odd.
I've visited all of the usual websites and such. Since the workload increase, however, I have not been bringing in my iBook. But fret not my friends -- I have my video ipod! It is loaded with seasons 1 and 2 of MI-5, season 1 of Sleeper Cell, season 1 of Weeds, Wallace and Grommit: Beware of the Ware Rabbit and various other videos. Not too shabby and oh so much more discreet and easier to hide than the iBook.
I love technology.

I Love You Internet!
I finally have internet service again, which is pretty wonderful because I was beginning to go through some serious withdrawal.
My DSL provider, Acecape (If you are in the NYC area you should use them because in the 3.5 half years I have been using them this is the first problem I have ever had.), submitted a trouble ticket to Verizon (they own the DSL line) and sent me a new modem just in case.
The Verizon service guy came and was amazed that I even had phone service because apparently our phone line was dead. He replaced the line and even joked that he wouldn't be surprised if Verizon did something because I wasn't using them as my ISP. He even installed the new modem that Acecape sent. This is all according to my mother.
The one problem is that when I got home late last night there was still no internet. Simple solution, the Verizon dude should have used the power supply that came with the new modem, not the old one.
So, I don't know exactly if the problem was Verizon or an old modem. I suppose I could plug in the old modem to see what happens, but I am so happy that I have service that I'm going to resist the need to geek out a bit.
I decided to take today off to partly recover from yesterday's Corporate Challenge and now to try and catch up on some free MP3s so that I can post to the podcast site. I feel so behind.

No internet
I have been without internet since sunday & service was sporadic at best a couple of weeks before that. It might be verizon or it might be the modem that i have had for about 3 years. The new modem arrives tomorrow so we will see.

Flex Days Rule
Today is my first summer flex day of the year.
So far I have accomplished:
1. Sleeping late-ish. Someone was hammering outside my window.
2. I actually made breakfast.
3. I turned the TV on.
4. Posted this update on the blog.
